Welcome to the Club from Director of Coaching, Dean Critchlow

 

“I would like to firstly welcome new members to Tamborine Mountain Eagles Soccer Club, and a warm welcome back to returning members I am looking forward to the upcoming season. Last season we had great success with a number of our competition teams making finals and our development teams playing quality football.  I believe that a successful club needs to have an identity, which is reflected by how we conduct ourselves on and off the field and the style of football we encourage – for The Eagles that is great sportsmanship and a dedication to our team and the game, with a focus on skills development whilst enjoying football and having fun. Also a reminder that the club is predominantly run by volunteers -  and welcome  parents who would like to be involved either on a match day or on the committee, please see me if you would like to consider becoming an Eagle yourself!”

Key Dates for 2018 

9 Feb           U5, 6, 7 Season Commences

16/17 Feb    Season Starts: first games of the season 

4-15 April     Season postponed during Commonwealth Games

20/21 April   Season Re-commences

18 Aug.        End of the Season (inc U5,6,7 who have a longer season in 2018 than previous years)

7/8 Sept.      Junior Grand Final Day

15 Sept        Presentation Day     

 

 

Training  

Each team has two training sessions a week (with the exception of U5’s who meet once a week). Before the start of the season ‘pre-season training’ is with Director of Coaching (DOC) Dean Critchlow and volunteer coaches combined. U5,6,7 do not have pre-season training.  

Further to team allocation, one session is with allocated team coach and the other with DOC Dean. 

The training schedule is designed around availability of the volunteer team coach, age of the players and rest between sessions and games.

All training sessions are at Long Road, unless advised otherwise and re-directed to Geissmann Oval. 

Prior to the start of a training session, junior players (12+) are to arrive 15 minutes before the session start time and one of the players will conduct a warm up before starting with your coach. This shows independence and a group togetherness as well as providing extra time for the session. 

 
In the event of bad weather 

Dean’s training days: refer to ‘Tamborine Mountain Eagles Soccer Club’ Facebook page for advice.

Game Day Coach training days:  Individual Managers or Coaches will contact their team with advice. 

Player Rotation Policy 

Under 7 / 8 / 9 – Players will rotate positions regularly, receiving equal game time.  

Under 10 / 11 – Players will start to develop specific positions. However, all players will play in at least two positions. A favoured position and a position the coach believes suits an individual’s strengths. Players may end up playing in a number of positions throughout a season. Game time will be equal for all players. 

Under 12+ (Competition) - At this age players will be playing for positions. The coach will look to give all players game time. Decisions will be made at the coaches discretion. 

Goalkeepers – Players will rotate as a GK, unless there is a player in the team that prefers to play in goal regularly. We will be looking for specialist goalkeepers from under 10 and older. 

 

Player Fines (Competition Juniors ie under 12+ only)

If a player receives disciplinary action (yellow or red cards issued for unsporting behavior or dissent) while on the pitch, the player or parent will be required to pay the resulting fine, not the club. This is to encourage the players to be disciplined. Feel free to make the players work the money off in chores around the house! 

 

Season Match Fixtures

Prior to the season your team manager will advise of season fixtures with dates, time and venue and opposing team. This is also available on the Fox Sports Pulse website:

Fixtures can change from time to time and your manager will send you a text to confirm the game time and venue if it changes. If a game is postponed your manager will contact you ASAP. 

For Junior Competition teams (U12-18s) Facebook page ‘Tamborine Mountain Eagles Soccer Club’ is also a great way to check for any game changes. Saturday game changes are available on a Friday evening and Friday evening match changes are notified on Facebook on Thursday evening. 

Club Uniform

Socks, shorts, training shirts and shin pads are available for purchase from the club. Please contact us regarding uniforms at tmeaglesuniforms@gmail.com

Player’s match jersey is supplied on loan from the club at no extra cost for the duration of the season.  You will be issued with your jersey by your team coach before fixtures begin. Match jerseys are to be returned at the end of the season in reasonable condition ie as they were issued. Shirts that are lost or damaged beyond reason will be billed for, in the instance that shirts are not replaced due to un-paid bill, the player will not be permitted to return to The Eagles.

Training Cancellation

For advice of training cancellation on Dean’s training days refer to the Eagles Facebook page. For advice of training cancellation on Coach training days await advice from your coach, or if in doubt contact your coach by text.

The club issues emails on important immediate forthcoming events, news or issues. 

The club also issues Newsletters with information helpful to parents for the forthcoming season. 

 

Game Cancellation  

 Your game day Coach and/or Manager will contact you by text if a game is cancelled due to weather conditions or has been forfeited to another day.  Game cancellations due to weather conditions (both home and away) are also posted on the Tamborine Mountain Eagles Soccer Club Facebook Page.  Please DO NOT contact/make enquires with other clubs if you have an away game.

 

Illness / Injury 

Once team training starts and your child has an illness or injury and is unavailable for training please advise your Manager 24 – 48 hours notice if possible, before training and a game.

Parent/Guardian Responsibilities

Canteen

Each team will be allocated duty to man the canteen one day over the season.  Your team manager will be in touch to let you know when you team is rostered on.  Please join us on canteen duty when it’s your team’s turn – it’s a great way to get to know other members and make a contribution to our club.

1.Tamborine Mountain Eagles Soccer Club Code of Conduct

Tamborine Mountain Eagles Soccer Club support and abide by the FOOTBALL QUEENSLAND MEMBER PROTECTION POLICY.

This Policy aims to ensure core values, good reputation and positive behaviours and attitudes are maintained. It assists us in ensuring that every person involved in our sport is treated with respect and dignity, and is safe and protected from abuse. Through this Policy, we aim to ensure that everyone involved in the club is aware of his or her legal and ethical rights and responsibilities.

2.Team Jerseys

All members will be allocated an Eagles Team Jersey once they have fully registered for the season. The jersey is the responsibility of the member and required to be returned to the Club at the end of the season.

Members agree to pay a replacement cost of $60 per jersey for any loss or damage throughout the season to the allocated jersey. In the instance that shirts are not replaced due to un-paid bill, the player will not be permitted to return to The Eagles.  

3. Photo ID

All competition members and officials agree to supply a passport size photo for competition ID. All registered players are required to upload a recent photograph of themselves (head and shoulders) at www.myfootballclub.com.au.  Players will not be allocated a team unless a recent photo is supplied.

4. Team Allocation

All members are allocated to teams according to age, development ability and overall team and club numbers. The decision for allocation is the sole responsibility of the Director of Coaching in consultation with volunteer coaches. The Director of Coaching will respect members desired allocation, however the DOC decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into after the final decision has been made.

5. Refund Policy

Once teams have been allocated, registered members who wish to de-register from the club will forfeit their Association fees portion of the overall registration fee. This is the amount paid to Football Gold Coast, Football Queensland and Football Australia, together with a club administration fee. The player will then be refunded after any outstanding fees on a pro-rata basis. The club will not refund fees to registered members after 21st April 2018.

6. Code of Conduct

All members agree to abide by the TMESC Code of Conduct and respect club and opposition members, referees, coaches and all officials.

7. Fixture & Training Changes

Fixture and date changes often occur throughout the season due to a number of unforeseen circumstances. Members agree to abide by these changes and work with officials to accommodate the changes.

No refund is given for lost training or match days. For the avoidance of doubt, if training or game days are cancelled due to rain, the TMESC will do its best to replace the session or game, but is under no obligation to do so.

8. Complaints Procedure.

Should members experience a breach of the code of conduct and not be able to resolve the issue, then they should contact a club official as their first point of contact to resolve directly.
